Potato Onion Fritters

A Crispy and tasty fritters which are famous in India as street food well known as Pakoras. As Monsoons are here and it feels like playing old songs and sitting in balcony with a cup of tea and watch raining outside ,enjoying the breeze outside and feeling the every depth of it. Then my mind associates certain foods which goes with this season and what comes in my mind is Pakoras you can call it fritters but the desi way is much better.

Potato Onion Fritters

they are my favorite tea time snacks. They are simple,easy and quick yet delicious. You can make mixed veg or simple onion pakoras but I prefer this. This recipe is perfect for rainy season.


How To Make Potato Onion Fritters



Ingredients:


  • 1 medium Onion chopped

  • 1 medium Potato chopped

  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves

  • 1/2 inch ginger grated

  • 1 green chilli

  • 1 small tsp carom seed

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 8 tsp gram flour (besan)

  • salt to taste

  • water

  • oil

  • Chat Masala (optional)


Instructions:


  1. Take a bowl add onion, potato, green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves.

  2. Add gram flour into with with all the spices and mix it well. Add salt into it.

  3. Now add water according to consistency. Don't add too much water. Batter should not too much running. it has to be smooth and there should not be any lumps. Let it rest for 5 mins.

  4. Heat oil in a pan, add small drops of batter if it quickly rises to the top of the surface, then the oil is ready to fry.

  5. Scoop up 1 tsp of the batter add it into the pan. Add 2-3 scoops at time. Turn it over on the other side.

  6. When both the sides are golden, remove it from the pan.

  7. Sprinkle some chat masala on top of it.

  8. Serve it with coriander-mint chutney.
